The Conductor Draft III

Welcome one!
Welcome all!
Welcome to the carnival!

The witching hour our circus calls,
reveal the freak within us all.
We twist and turn your fragile minds,
our world consumes as yours unwinds.

We hope tonight brings someone new,
I crave fresh blood as all beasts do.
Now, let realities unfurl,
discard qualms of the waking world.

Witness the man coated in ink,
the black-shot flesh shifts when you blink.
At night, sleep brings him no reprieve
he sees shadows we can’t perceive

Now watch the girls that dance and glide-
their hearts are black and cold inside.
Sweet smiles into malicious grins,
corrupt caresses soaked in sin.

Ah- here comes our clockwork princess,
stiffly smiles in her threadbare dress.
See how she swans in scattered steps,
face veiled by her tangled tress.

Now. May I have a volunteer?
What about this young lady here-
Come on up! Please don’t be shy-
Don’t allow this to pass you by.

Stand here. Gaze at this looking glass,
sorcery leaves your soul unmasked.
reveals the decay in your heart-
the veil of this world falls apart

Ladies and gents- don’t be alarmed-
I vow you will come to no harm-
As the clock strikes the twilight hour
The dark consumes and overpowers.

The shadow falls- all is revealed!
Monstrosities are unconcealed!
Do you not the girl within?
Who lies entrapped in withered skin.

Oh flee! Oh flee! And scream and cry!
Now bid the carnival goodbye-
What’s this? My girl- you’ve stay’d behind?
The world is no longer as kind?

Child, they do not deserve your tears,
We relish preying on their fears-
So why not join us troubadours?
Abandon all their mortal laws.

Now dusk draws on, day fades to night-
Disguising our hideous plights,
the rotten faces, putrid breath.
Carnival of Monsters and Death.
